Local Ingredients: Lamb – Grilled Butterflied Leg of Lamb with Lemon, Herbs and Garlic

We are so lucky to have such fabulous food vendors in Tuolumne County.

Recently, my good friend Lynn asked me if I wanted to split a lamb. I love lamb but had never cooked it before so I thought, “how fun does that sound?”  She ordered it from Rawhide Meat Processing located in Jamestown and I’ve been having a blast reading through all my cookbooks and scouring the internet looking for recipes and techniques.   The quality is amazing- so flavorful and tender. If you have ever thought about doing this I highly recommend Rawhide Meat.

My favorite recipe so far has been Grilled Butterflied Leg of Lamb with Lemon, Herbs, and Garlic. It is easy and quick and all of the herbs give it such a fantastic and fresh flavor. Grilled veggies made a perfect side.

And because we love our cocktails in the Rowland household I made a little Mojito Champagne Cocktail.
